Battersea Park

Open in 1858 by
quaeen Victoria, Battersea park is bordered on one side by the Thames with area
of 200 acres. The most famous features are the Festival Gardens, Peace Pagoda,
children’s zoo. Visitors can go boating on the lake, play around or just enjoy

is 220 acres of high ground above the Thames flood plain. Common was split
between the manors of Battersea and Clapham, developed into a green space for
recreation in 1877. During World War I & II it was also used for military

lots of facilities and attractions such as foot ball pitches, tennis pitches,
fun fairs, circuses, rallies and children’s' entertainments

Coram Fields

This kids’
friendly park is named after Mr Thomas Coram (1668-1751), who once started a
hospital and school for abandoned children. Covered with seven-acres and
includes under five padding pool, a pets’ corner and a café. Adults are only
admitted if accompanied by a child, and no dogs are allowed.
